Prof Azra N Kamili

Prof. Azra N. Kamili is currently Professor (Adjunct) of Botany at Central University of Kashmir. Earlier she was Professor of Botany at Center of Research for Development, University of Kashmir Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. She has completed her M.Phil and Ph.D. in Botany from University of Kashmir. Prof. Kamili has significantly contributed in various fields of Botany viz., Plant Morphogenesis, Plant Tissue Culture, Medicinal Plants Research, Microbial Ecology, Conservation Biology &Cytogenetics. Presently her research interests focus on Plant Tissue Culture, Microbial Ecology, Stress Biology, Plant Microbe Interaction and Molecular Biology. She has teaching experience of 32 years and research experience of 37 years. She has attended about 30 National/ International conferences across the country and has guided about 65 M. Phil and Ph.D scholars. She is/has remained the principal investigator /co-principal investigator/mentor of 16 major research projects supported by different funding agencies like DST, ICAR, DBT and UGC. She has also 08 books and about 206 research publications in reputed Journals having good impact factor to her credit. She was a member of Syndicate of University of Kashmir and University of Jammu. She was also member of FinanaceCommitee and Syndicate of Cluster University Srinagar. She was a member of J&K Biodiversity Board and also member of Academic council, SKUAST-K.
